Maple flooring is one of the hardest flooring options available. It is the hardwood flooringcommonly used for bowling alleys and gymnasiums, and was once used for the turned legs of most furniture. Maple flooring is also the lightest colored hardwood floor at a very pale cream ranging from slightly pink to almost white in Select Grade, with frequent medium tan to brown striations in Country Grade. The whiteness of maple flooring can best be maintained by using a water based finish or an oil finish will impart the traditional yellow tone of a gym floor.
